I have been working in various care settings for the past 15 years and enjoy working with people and supporting them and their families, I am a natural care giver.
I am a mother of 6 children, 3 of which are now adults and I am currently studying at university to become a Psychologist (3rd year) and have a genuine interest in peoples lives. I am quite a sociable, friendly person and although my life appears to be busy I manage my time well and I am very organised.
My hobbies are travelling and experiencing new cultures and cuisine as well as spending time with my children and creating wonderful memories for them.
I have experience in both mental health & general nursing settings.
I have a lot of experience in dementia care firstly through caring for my father who had advanced Alzheimer’s and was cared for at home, due to this I chose to work in dementia care for 10 years caring for people with all stages of dementia.
I am confident in caring for patients who are palliative also and hold a level 3 certificate in palliative care.
I have worked in A&E for a several years and am trained in Venepunture & Cannulation.
I work in general hospitals and am able to give personal care, catheter care, take and understand observations and various other skills.
I also have experience of working in mental health settings, my service users are both adults and children, mostly of teenage age.
I have experience with autism as 2 of my daughter’s are on the spectrum and I often work with people who are also on the spectrum.
All of my training is currently up to date, such as safeguarding, manual handling, PMVA and various others.
I am always happy to learn new skills and take further training and courses if it helps my service user and my work.
Aside from the above skills and experience, I can offer cooking (which I enjoy, I’m Italian 😊) shopping, companionship, personal assistant, admin ect.
Nights are preferred as I’ve been a night shifter for 14 years.
